A Week of Prayer and Fasting

Tower City Church is entering a week of praying and fasting from Sunday, January 18 to Sunday, January 25.  This is our special time to embrace the grace of God to seek Him and begin our year fully saturated in His Word and His Presence.  Below, you will find a prayer emphasis for each day.  As we begin this journey together, consider the following Bible verses: “No other nation is as great as we are. Their gods do not come near them, but the Lord our God comes near when we pray to him.” (Deuteronomy 4:7, NCV) “‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’” (Jeremiah 33:3, The Message)

Sunday, January 18 – Begin in Faith…Just Give Thanks!

Let’s thank God for the opportunity to encounter Him in a new way; for the revelation that we will receive and for the manifestation of His goodness that is sure to shape our lives and our future. “Enter with the password: “Thank you!”Make yourselves at home, talking praise.Thank him. Worship him.” (Psalm 100:4, The Message)

Monday, January 19 – Forgive…and Be Forgiven!  Get Free and Clear!

As we commit afresh to aligning with God’s order of forgiveness, let’s remember that the Spirit of God must move upon us before God can move for us!  Total forgiveness brings greater effectiveness, greater liberty, greater spiritual authority, and greater power as we walk in it.  This is our time to release wrongs, erase records, and lay down judgments. “God is faithful and reliable. If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done wrong.” (1 John 1:9, GW)

Tuesday, January 20 – Celebrate and Declare God’s Favor…Everywhere!

We choose to pronounce and proclaim God’s favor!  We rehearse it over every aspect of our lives…as His people, in the place where we find ourselves, over our job, our generations, our relationships, our possessions, our finances and our future.  God is in us, with us, and for us!  We are a fruitful field!  He has already commanded His blessing upon all that concerns us. “You will rise up and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her— the appointed time has come.” (Psalm 102:13, HCSB)

Wednesday, January 21 – Look for Increase…It’s Time to Thrive, not just Survive!

By faith we look for, expect, and call in the promised increase that is ours by covenant through Jesus Christ.  We are neither victims nor survivors; we are more than conquerors in the face of challenge, and we are created to thrive in less-than-ideal situations! “God blessed them:“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge!” (Genesis 1:28, The Message)

Thursday, January 22 – More Compassion…Greater Influence…Extended Reach!

We are called to be a people of influence and impact.  We will ultimately become what we believe!  May we capture again God’s heart for the lost, the broken, the downcast, the hurting, the dysfunctional, and the confused.  May we be the carriers of His divine touch of grace, mercy, forgiveness, healing, and restoration. “When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. “What a huge harvest!” he said to his disciples. “How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!”” (Matthew 9:36–38, The Message)

Friday, January 23 – God Bless America…Again!

We have become a nation that has rejected God’s ways, no longer recognizing His wisdom and authority.  As a result, we have also rejected His mercy since mercy cannot remain where truth is rejected.  We have also rejected His remedy regarding the social sickness and decay evident in every area of our nation.  Without repentance, there can be no remedy.  Let our cry for our country be, “Return to Him so He will return to us!” “if my people, who belong to me, humble themselves, pray, seek to please me, and repudiate their sinful practices, then I will respond from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NET)

Saturday, January 24 – Prepare Now…Get Ready for the Future!

We choose to seek God now, to hear Him now, to encounter Him now, to be ready for what we are to be, to do, and to face for the rest of this new year.  We expect both advancement and adversity, preparing now by embracing a God’s-eye view of life, interpreting all things in the light of His Word and His goodness.  God is ready!  We now ready ourselves for more of Him, more miracles, more manifestations, and more challenges.  We are more than able and we have more than enough! ““Go through the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your supplies, for within three days you will cross the Jordan River and begin the conquest of the land the Lord your God is ready to hand over to you.’ ”” (Joshua 1:11, NET) _____________________________________________________________________________________
